Entering Letters and Symbols

Text entry is automatically activated for functions where you can enter letters; such as names or messages.

Text Entry Mode

There are several text entry modes available (T9, Abc, Numeric, Symbol, and more) depending on the feature in use. The current mode is displayed at the lower left corner of the screen as

(T9 mode), (Abc mode), or (Numeric mode).

To Change the Entry Mode:

1.Press the left softkey under Mode .

2.Select a new entry mode (T9, abc, Number or Symbols) then

press .

Shortcut: 1. To change the mode (Abc > T9 > Numeric > Abc), press and

hold .

2.To change the mode between T9 and Abc, press and hold the left softkey under Mode .

3.To change to the Numeric mode, press and hold .

T9 Mode

The T9 mode allows you to enter text quickly by pressing one key per letter. This function suggests words as you type.

Example in English:

1. Type 4 GHI 6MNO . Your phone displays in .

2.Press 0 to display the next choice go .

3.Press to select the word “go” and add a space.
