AXIS 223M - Event Configuration 31

Event Configuration

There are conditions that will cause the camera to respond with certain actions. For example, when an alarm goes off, the camera would respond by uploading images to the server. An Event type describes the conditions and the camera’s expected response. When the condition happens, we call it an Event; the camera’s response is called an Action.

A triggered event happens as a result of a trigger, which could be motion detection by the camera for example. A scheduled event happens according to schedule. An event could run at a scheduled time. For example, the camera could be configured to zoom in on area during night time.

This section describes how to set up event servers and event types.

Event Types

An Event Type describes how and when the camera performs certain actions.

Example: If somebody passes in front of the camera and an event that uses motion detection has been configured to act on this, the camera can record and save images to an FTP server, and/or send a notification e-mail to a pre-config- ured e-mail address with a pre-configured mes- sage. Images can be sent as e-mail attachments.
