CAUTION

Before replacing the presser foot, be sure to turn off the sewing machine, otherwise injuries may occur if a button is accidentally pressed and the machine starts sewing.

Appliqué stitching

aCut out the appliqué, leaving a seam allowance of between 3 and 5 mm (1/8 and 3/ 16 inch).

bPlace a pattern made of thick paper on the back of the appliqué, and then fold over the seam allowance using an iron.

cTurn the fabric over, and then baste, glue or pin it onto the fabric that it will be attached to.
