Sewing overcasting stitches using the optional side cutter
Using the optional side cutter, seam allowances can be finished while the edge of the fabric is cut off. Five
stitches can be used to sew overcasting stitches with the side cutter.
CAUTION
Note
zThread the needle manually when using the
side cutter, or only attach the side cutter
after threading the needle using the needle
threader.
aRemove the presser foot.
• For details on replacing the presser foot, refer
to "Replacing the presser foot" (page 43).

onto the needle clamp screw.

cPosition the side cutter so that side cutter pin
is aligned with the notch in the presser foot
holder, and then slowly lower the presser foot

Be sure to turn off the main power before replacing the presser foot. Otherwise, injuries may
occur if (Start/stop button) is accidentally pressed and the machine starts sewing.
