1. With the printer on, clickSSttaarrtt, then SSeettttiinnggss, then PPrriinntteerrss.
2. Right-clickthe CCaannoonn SS330000icon, then select PPrrooppeerrttiieess.
3. Selectthe MMaaiinntteennaanncceetab, then click SSttaarrtt SSttaattuuss MMoonniittoorr. The BJ Status
Monitor willappear.
The Printer Statustab displays the ink levels for each tank. The following
iconsmay appear above the ink tanks on the BJ Status Monitor:
Inklow. Replace ink tank as soon as
possible.
The inktank level may not be
synchronized with itsink counter. For
information on how to synchronize
inklevels and counters, see “To
reset the inkcounter in Windows”
on page 22.

If backgrounding isenabled and the low ink warning is turned on, the BJ Status
Dialog willdisplay ink levels while printing.
By default, BBaacckkggrroouunnddiinnggis OOffff.
1. SelectCChhoooosseerrfrom the AApppplleemenu.
2. SetBBaacckkggrroouunnddiinnggto OOnn.
3. When a job isprinting, note the ink level on the BJ Status Dialog.
The IInnkk LLeevveellicons displaythe ink levels for each tank. The following icons
mayappear at the upper right corner of an icon:
