Two importantfactors control the quality and output of your printed images:
PPaappeerr aanndd IInnkkUsing recommended paper or specialtymedia for printing
graphic imagesor photographs can significantly improve the quality of your
printout. (See “Recommended Paper Use” on page 3.) Also, alwaysuse the
specificCanon inks for your S300 printer, as noted on the inside back cover.
PPrriinntteerr DDrriivveerr SSeettttiinnggss There is a variety of settingsyou can use to enhance
the quality of the print, the colorsand the way in which the document
comesout of the printer.

AAddjjuussttiinngg PPrriinntt QQuuaalliittyy

Two ofthe features that affect the appearance and quality of your printed
documents can be controlled with the printer driver.
MMeeddiiaa TTyyppee The S300 automatically adjusts printer settings to improve
print quality based on the media type (plain paper, GlossyPhoto Paper, etc.)
you select.
PPrriinntt QQuuaalliittyy When you select a media type, print quality is automatically
set for thatmedia. You can change print quality settings if desired.

1. From an application FFiilleemenu, select PPrriinntt.
2. With CCaannoonn SS330000as the selected printer, clickPPrrooppeerrttiieess. The S300
Properties window willopen to the Main tab.
3. Selectthe appropriate MMeeddiiaa TTyyppeefrom the drop-down menu.
