Using the Custom White Balance

You can set a custom whitebalance to obtain the optimal setting for
the shooting conditions by having thecamera evaluate an object,
such as apiece ofwhite paper or cloth that youwish to establish as
the standard white color.
In particular, take acustom white balance reading forthe following
situations that are difficult forthe _ (Auto) setting to detect correctly.
•Shooting close-ups
• Shooting subjects ofmonotone color (such as sky, seaor forest)
• Shooting witha peculiar sourceof light(such as a mercury-vapor lamp)

2 Aim the camera at a piece of white paper or cloth and
press the SET button.
OAim the camera so that thewhite reference paper or cloth
completely fills the center ofthe frame.
