[A.SL SHUTTER]: The camcorder automatically uses slow shutter speeds to obtain brighter recordings in places with insufficient lighting.

•The camcorder uses shutter speeds down to 1/30 (1/15 in mode).

•If a trailing afterimage appears, set the slow shutter to [ OFF].

•If (camcorder shake warning) appears, we recommend stabilizing the camcorder, for example, by mounting it on a tripod.

[REVIEW]: Selects the time to display a still image after it has been recorded.

•You can erase ( 54) or protect ( 55) the image if you press FUNC. while you are

reviewing the image (or immediately after recording it, if set to [ OFF]).

[IMG STAB]: The image stabilizer compensates for camcorder shake even at full telephoto.

•The image stabilizer is designed to compensate for a normal degree of camcorder shake.

•The image stabilizer may not be effective when recording in dark places with

[A.SL SHUTTER] set to [

N] or using the [

NIGHT] recording program.

•The image stabilizer cannot be turned off when the mode switch is set to .

•We recommend setting the image stabilizer to [ OFF] when using a tripod.

[WIDES REEN]: The camcorder uses the full width of the image sensor providing high- resolution 16:9 recordings.

•Since the screens on the camcorder have an aspect ratio of 16:9, recordings with a 4:3 aspect ratio will appear in the center of the screen with black sidebars.

•Playing back a widescreen recording: TV sets compatible with the Video ID-1 system will automatically switch to wide (16:9) mode. Otherwise, change the aspect ratio of the TV manually. To play back on a TV with normal aspect ratio (4:3) change the [TV TYPE]

setting accordingly ( 75).
