To shoot a snapshot

1.Point the camera at the subject.

If you are using Premium Auto, text will appear in the lower right corner of the monitor screen describing the type of shot the camera has detected.

• You can zoom the image, if you want.

Appears when the camera detects it is stationary on a tripod.

When you select “On” for the “GPS” setting (page 92), candidates for the place name of the current location that will be registered to the image based on the latitude and longitude measured by the Hybrid-GPS will appear on the monitor screen. At this time you can register the name of the location where you are shooting to the image. For details, see “Inserting the Place Name into Image Data (Insert Place)” (page 94).

2. Half-press the shutter button to

focus the image.

 

When focus is complete, the camera will beep, the back lamp will light green, and the focus frame will turn green.

Press lightly until the button stops.

Beep, beep (Image is in focus.)

When you half-press the shutter button, the camera automatically adjusts exposure and focuses on the subject it is currently pointed at. Mastering how much pressure is required for a half-press and a full-press of the shutter button is an important technique for good-looking images.

The focus frame in the screen shots included in this manual is shown at ß. Note that you can change the form of the focus frame, if you want (page 62).
