Troubleshooting

When the register does not operate at all

Perform the following check whenever the cash register enter an error condition as soon as you switch it on. The results of this check are required by service personnel, so be sure to perform this check before you contact a CASIO representative for servicing.

Start

Is register plugged in?

Is power on?

YES

N O

Plug in the power cord.

Set the mode switch to any position other than OFF.

Do figures appear on the display?

Do keys function?

Does paper feed?

Is the electrical outlet active?

Contact CASIO service

representative.

Is the mode position correct?

Contact CASIO service

representative.

Is paper loaded correctly?

Is the platen arm closed correctly?

Contact CASIO service

representative.

Use other outlet.

Set to correct position.

Load paper.

Set platen arm correctly.

Clearing a machine lock up

If you make a mistake in operation, the cash register may lock up to avoid damage to programs and preset data. Should it happens, you can use the following procedure to clear the lock up without losing any data.

1Power off the register.

2Insert the PGM key in the mode switch.

3Press down f, and turn the mode switch to PGM mode.

4Release fafter count five, then the display shows ten Fs.

5Press s. The display shows ten Fs and issue a receipt.

Important!

• If the register does not show ten Fs, never press sand call service representative.
