Battery Backup
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Test the installed battery with the motor unit.
To test the battery, disconnectthe motor unit power cord
from the electricaloutlet.
Asolid orange LED indicatesthe battery is operating on
battery power..
A flashing orange LED with beep indicatesthe unit is
operating on battery power and that the battery charge
islow..
° To test the battery is functioning properly, open and
close thegarage door.
°Re-connect the motor unit power cord back into the
electrical outlet.
, Verify that the green LED is flashing on the BBU
(indicates that the battery is now charging)
• Test completed..
2. Charge the battery.
Battery will take 24 to 48 hours tofully charge.
A fully charged battery supplies 12V DC to the motor unit
for one to two days of normal operation during an
electrical power outage.. If the battery voltage drops too
low, the batteries willdisconnect and the motor unit witino
longer operate under battery power..
After the electricaf power has been restored, the battery
will recharge within 48 hours. Under normal usage
batteries wilt last 3 to 5 years_
To obtain maximum battery lifeand prevent damage,
disconnect the battery when motor unit isunplugged
for an extended period of time.
NOTE: Door operation may be limiteduntil battery is fully
charged.. The motor unit's lights will not turn on during
battery mode..

Batlery Slalus LED
NOTE: LED is most visible with worklight off,
GREEN LED:
All systems are normal
A solid LED light indicates the battery is fully charged,
o A flashing LED indicates the battery isbeing charged°
NOTE: Battery does not have to be fullycharged to
operate the motor unit_,
ORANGE LED:
Themotor unit has lostpower and is operating off of the
battery.
°A solid LED with beep, sounding approximately every 2
seconds, indicates the motor unit is activating the door
and isoperating off of the battery.
- A flashing LED with beep, sounding every 30 seconds,
indicates battery islow.
Once the power is restored the battery will recharge..
This isindicated by a flashing green LED..
RED LED:
Ifa red LED remains on when the power is restored,
and isaccompanied by a beep sounding every 30
seconds, please call for service.,
• To obtain maximum battery lifeand prevent damage,
also disconnect the battery ifyou unplug the motor
unit while on vacation or any other extended period
of time..
