General

Maintenance

To maintain optimum performanc e and minimi ze wear, the us er should cl ean the light
fixtures frequently. Us age and en viron ment are cont ributi ng f actors in determining the
cleaning frequency. As a rul e, t h e us er should clean the fixtur es at least twice a month.
Dust build up reduces ligh t output perform ance and c an cause overheati ng. This can
lead to reduced light source life and inc r eased mechanical wear.
CHAUVET® recommends c leaning t he fixtur e’s extern al optics with a soft c loth usi ng
normal glass cleaning f luid.
To clean a fixture, foll ow the recommendations b elow:
Unplug the fixture from power.
Wait until the fixture is c old.
Use a vacuum (or dry compressed air) an d a s oft br us h t o rem o ve d u s t coll ec t ed
on the external vents and reachabl e int ernal components.
Clean all external optics and glass surf aces with a mild solution of glass clean er or
isopropyl alcohol, and a soft, lint free cotton cl oth or a lens cleaning ti ssue.
Apply the solution direc tly to the cloth or tissu e and drag any dirt and gr ime to the
outside of the lens.
Gently polish the external glass s urf aces until they are free of haze and lint.
When cleaning units with a movabl e mirr or, you should keep the contact with th e
mirror surface to a mini mum to avoid scratching or damaging it.
Always dry the external optics and glass surfac es carefully after clean ing them.
If the fixture has one or more fans, refrain from s pin nin g the m u sing compressed
air.
