The SPGs are designed as a group of mobility agent switches to where the users frequently roam. It is important
that roams within an SPG are local to the SPG and need not involve the mobility controller, whereas roams across
an SPG require traffic to traverse the mobility controller.
Converged Access Network Design with Cisco Catalyst 3850 If the wireless deployment consists of one Cisco Catalyst 3850 Switch operating as mobility controller as well as
mobility agent, which might be suited for a small branch type deployment, 50 Cisco access points and 2000 clients
are supported, as seen in Figure 9.
