4.8PaperNearEndSensor,PaperEndSensor,andMechanicalAlarm
4.8.1PaperNearEnd
When the paper is getting low, the paper near end is detected and printing is stopped. Power supplyt o the
printing solenoid and motor i s immediately stopped and BUSY PE signals are ou tputted to the host.
Whendata still exists in the input buffer , the remaining da ta in the buffer i s printed before stopping.
Discharge rema ining paper with t he LF switch, se t new paper and pu sh the LF switch. T hen normal print mode
is created after cancellation of BUSY and PE output.
ThisfunctioncanbeselectedbyDipSwitchsetting.
4.8.2PaperEnd
Whether there is printing paper or not i s detected. With prin ting paper running o ut, printing stops an d BUSY
andPE signalis outputted.
Printing is also stopped even when data remains in theinput buff er.
Discharge paper wi th the LF switch, set new paper and push LF switch. Then BUSY PE is c anceled.
When auto loading function is available, printer automatically feeds recording paper at a few lines by inserti ng
the recording paper into the pape r inlet.
4.8.3MechanicalAlarm
When occurrenc e of trouble in the mecha nism is judged by lock ing of the motor, power supply t o the printing
solenoid and motor is stopped and BUSY signals as wel l as FAULT signals are output to host terminal.
Torecover froma larm state, after removingtrouble causes, either re-supply power or input RESET signals.
For severe trouble, turn power off and leave this repair to service personnel.
