Configurations
The Master-IT PRO can be set up as a Single Master or cascaded in a Master/Slave configuration.
A single master involves only one Master-IT PRO KVM switch, and has the keyboard, monitor and mouse directly connected to its’ console ports.
Acascaded configuration involves “daisy-chaining”a slave Master-IT PRO KVM switch to the master unit. The KVM switch which has the keyboard, monitor and mouse directly connected to it is considered the master. All others are considered as slaves. The master must have an equal number or more PC ports than the slave. Do not attempt to configure a slave with more PC ports than the master.
In a cascaded configuration, the PC ports of the master are used to “daisy-chain” to the console ports of the slave. Only PC ports 1 through 8 can be used to “daisy-chain” to the console ports of the slave.
