Credential-less CIMOM Authentication On Systems Running Linux

When installing DSET or collecting the DSET report using DSET version 3.5.0 and earlier on systems running Linux, you must enter password at the command line interface. If the credentials are correct and the CIMOM (SFCB or TogPegasus) authentication is successful, the installation or report collection process is successfully completed.

From DSET version 3.5.1 and later, DSET supports single sign-on for the logged-in user. Single sign-on allows you to run DSET without entering the password. CIMOM accepts a client certificate while establishing the HTTPS connection. If the certificate is signed by a trusted authority, a network connection is started. During installation, DSET generates and deploys its own certificate and key which is used later. The access to certificate and key is limited only to the root user.
