Follow the instructions in this section to configure CIFS clients to access information on the filer.

After setup finishes, the filer becomes visible to CIFS clients by automatically regis- tering with the master browser on its local network.

If cross-subnet browsing is configured correctly, the filer is now visible to all CIFS cli- ents. For more information about cross-subnet browsing, refer to the Microsoft networking documentation.
