Replacing the I/O Assembly

1.Perform the procedure Before Working on Your Computer.

2.Remove the drive bezel, if installed (see Remove the Drive Bezel).

3.Remove the bezel, if installed (see Remove the Bezel).

4.Feed the I/O assembly cables into the front of the chassis through the opening for the I/O assembly until the assembly is in place. Ensure that the tabbed end of the assembly points toward the left (down) side of the computer.

NOTE: Use the guides on the I/O assembly bracket to help position the I/O assembly in place, and use the notch on the I/O assembly bracket to help seat the panel.

5.With the I/O assembly positioned in the opening and flush with the front panel of the chassis, slide it toward the left side of the computer (down) fully, then slide it toward the right side of the computer (up) until it slips into place. The hole in the tabbed end of the assembly should align with the screw hole in the front of the chassis.

6.Install a screw through the tab and into the front panel to secure the assembly to the chassis.

7.Plug the I/O assembly cable connectors into their system board connectors (see System Board Components).

8.Join the I/O assembly cables to the cable bundle routed through the middle of the chassis.

9.Replace the bezel (see Replace the Bezel).
