12. If the system contained a wireless card that was removed in a previous step, replace the card (see Internal Wireless Card - Installation).
13. Reroute cables through guides on the fan shroud.
14. Replace the optical drive (see Replacing or Installing an Optical Drive).
15. Replace the hard drive and shroud assembly (see Replacing the Hard Drive and Shroud Assembly).
16. Perform the procedure After Working on Your Computer.

Remove and Replace the Fan and Shroud Assembly

The fan and shroud assembly can be removed and replaced without removing the heatsink.
1. Perform the procedure Before Working on Your Computer.
2. Remove the hard drive and shroud assembly (see Removing the Hard Drive and Shroud Assembly).
3. Remove the optical drive (see Removing an Optical Drive).
4. If an internal wireless card is installed, unplug the card from the system board and move it and wireless card cable away from the fan shroud (see
Internal Wireless Card - Removal).
5. Remove cables routed through guides on the fan shroud.
6. Disconnect the two fan cables from the system board (see System Board Components).
7. Remove the four screws that secure the fan and shroud assembly to the heatsink.
8. Lift the fan and shroud assembly out of the chassis.
