Running diagnostics helps you troubleshoot issues before seeking help from Dell. The diagnostics options available on your solution are:

Online Diagnostics

Online diagnostics can be run while the system is still online and serving data. There are five diagnostic options available:

1Using an SSH client, log on to the PowerVault NX3500 CLI (using the NAS Management VIP) as admin.

2From the CLI run the diagnostic command diag start <one of the five options>

For example, diag start PerformanceDiagnostic

To retrieve the diagnostic file:

1Use an ftp client after the diagnostics is complete: ftp://admin@ ControllerIP:44421/diagnostics

2Enter your admin password.

NOTE: The controller IP address you should use to retrieve the diagnostic file is displayed on the screen.
