Adjusting the sound field effects

• If no button is operated for about 5 seconds, the display is returned to the normal display. After registering, the display is returned to the normal display.

Tone

Default settings are underlined.

Adjust the tonal quality of the sound.

1 Press TONE.

ToneControl•OFF–

2 Use o p to select “ON”.

ON : Allow tone adjustment (bass, treble).

OFF : Playback without tone adjustment.

NOTE

The tone cannot be adjusted in the direct mode.

3Press TONE to select an item to be set, and use o p to select a setting value.

Bass : Adjust low frequency range (bass).

–6dB – +6dB (0dB)

Treble : Adjust high frequency range (treble).

–6dB – +6dB (0dB)

“Bass” or “Treble” can be set when “Tone Control” is set to “ON”.

NIGHT MODE

Default settings are underlined.

Optimized setting for late-night listening.

Press NIGHT to select your desired mode.

D.Comp : OFF

OFF : Not set.

Low : Set the adjusted value to “Low”.

Mid : Set the adjusted value to “Middle”.

High : Set the adjusted value to “High”.

When a Dolby TrueHD signal is output, “DRC” is displayed on the display of the main unit.

The setting mode is also changed as shown below.

OFF : Not set.

Low : Set the adjusted value to “Low”.

Mid : Set the adjusted value to “Middle”.

High : Set the adjusted value to “High”.

Auto : Automatic dynamic range compression on/off control according to the source.

RESTORER

Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio) and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The RESTORER function generates the signals eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to conditions near those of the original sound before compression. It also corrects the sense of volume of the bass to obtain richer sound with compressed audio signals.

Press RESTORER to select “ON” or “OFF”.

RESTORER: ON

ON : Use RESTORER.

OFF : Do not use RESTORER.

This item can be set with analog signals or when a PCM signal (fs = 44.1/48 kHz) is input.

This cannot be set when the surround mode is set to “DIRECT”.

This item default setting for “iPod” is “ON”. All others are set to “OFF”.

When set to “ON”, is displayed.

Audio Delay

Default settings are underlined.

While viewing video, manually adjust the time to delay audio output.

1 Press AUDIO DELAY.

A.Delay :• 0ms–

2 Use o p to select the value to be set and then press ENTER to enter the setting.

0ms – 200ms

Store “Audio Delay” for each input source.
