Gamma
Generally, the monitor brightness varies nonl inearly with the input signal level, which is called “Gamma
Characteristic”. A small gamma value produc es a low-contrast image, while a large gamma value produces a
highcontrast image.
HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)
Digital signal coding system developed to copy-protect the d igital contents, such as video, music, etc.
This helps to transmit the digita l contents safely by coding the digital contents sent via the DVI or HDMI
connector on the output side and decoding t hem on the input side.
Any digital contents cannot be reprod uced if both of the equipments on the output and input sides are not
applicable to HDCP system.
HDMI (High-Denition Multimedia Interface)
HDMI is a digital interface sta ndard, developed for consumer electrical appliance or AV device. This
standard is issued on the basis of the DVI standa rd which is one of an interface specication for the
connection between a PC and a monitor. The projected im age, sound and control signal without compressed
enable to be transmitted with one ca ble.
Overdrive
This technology enhances res ponse speed by increasing the potential dif ference at the time of motion of
liquid-crystal pixels, and it is used for liquid- crystal TV sets and others in gener al. It provides clear-cut
three-dimensional display with little af terimage, by improving response speed of the intermed iate graduation
range that frequently appears in movi ng images.
Rec709
Digital broadcasting (HDTV ) standards dened by the ITU-R (I nternational Telecommunication Union
Radio Communication Sector).
Rec1886
Standards for the input/output charact eristics of at panel displays used in studio production for digital
broadcasting (HDTV) spe cied by the ITU-R based on CRT characteristics.
Resolution
The LCD panel consists of numerous pixels of specied size, which are il luminated to form images. This
monitor consists of horizontal 2560 pixels and 1600 vertical pixels. At a resolution of 2560 × 1600, all pixels
are illuminated as a fu ll screen (1:1).
SMPTE-C
One of the standards provided by the SMPTE (Society of Motion Pict ure and Television Engineers).
