You notice a reduction in hard disk performance.

Cl The data on the disk may have become fragmented. You may want to back up all your data and then use a disk compaction utility to reorganize the files on your disk. Contact your dealer for information.

Cl If you cannot access data on your hard disk or you are receiving read/write errors, the disk may have a physical problem. Try running the Hard drive System diagnostic tests on the drive, as described in Appendix A.

Ll If the problem persists, contact the dealer from whom you purchased the drive.

Software Problems

LI Make sure you are using the correct procedure for starting the program and that it is installed correctly.

tl Be sure you are logged onto or specifying the correct drive and directory.

CI Some programs must run at a slower operating speed. Check your software manual to see if this is the case, and change the operating speed of the processor if necessary. See “Changing the Processor Speed” in Chapter 3 for instructions and for information on accommodating copy-protected programs.

LI If you are still having problems with your software, consult your software documentation or contact the manufacturer for technical support.
