5.7Dismounting Drives
Since dismounting the drive to check the setting terminals, change the setting, or change the drive depends on the structure of the system cabinet, the work procedures must be determined in consideration of the requirements specific to the system. This section describes the general procedures and notes on dismounting the drive.
It is recommended before dismounting the drive to make sure the spindle motor completely stops after power was turned off.
a)Remove the power cable.
b)Remove the SCSI cable.
NC Model uses a single cable for power supply and the SCSI interface.
c)When the external operator panel is mounted, remove the cable. If it is difficult to access the connector position, the cable may be removed after step e).
d)Remove the DC ground cable.
e)Remove the four mounting screws securing the drive, then remove the drive from the system cabinet.
f)To store or transport the drive, keep it in an antistatic bag and provide packing (see Section 5.1).
5.8Spare Disk Drive
See 2.1.1, “Model name and order number,” to order a disk drive for replacement or as a spare.
