ThePRIMERGY SX10 supports the concept of consolidating databackup facilities ina 19-inch rack environment. This is an answer to the data
centers’ growingneeds for storage capacity for archives and backup. Shared data backup facilities offer numerous advantages, for example in
cluster configurations.
The PRIMERGY SX10 is a server-oriented storage subsystem that enables youto install backup drives in a separate 19-inch housing with 3
height units. In that case one
server can use up to 2 backup devices (1 SCSI channel, 1server, 1 or 2 devices). Integrating the optional upgrade to 4 SCSI channels up to 4
servers can be connected, each using 1 of the max. 4 backup devices (1 SCSI channel, 1 server, max. 1 device). This subsystem can be
integrated into any of the currently available racks, such as the PRIMERGYDataCenter, PRIMECENTER, and third-party rack products. The
PRIMERGY SX10 is a global product that is also used by PRIMEPOWER servers.
