Go-Around / Missed Approach
1) Push the Go Around button at the Decision
Height to execute a missed approach.

pushed, the autopilot disconnects and the ‘AP’
annunciation flashes yellow for five seconds
The flight director Command Bars establish a 7
degree nose-up climb to follow.
2) Add power and retract flaps per the go-around
procedures in the Columbia AFM. Start the climb
to the prescribed altitude in the published Missed
Approach Procedure.
a) Press the
AP
Key to re-engage the autopilot.
b) Press the FLC Key and adjust for Vx or Vy.
c) After reaching 400’ AGL, set the HSI to HDG
or GPS mode. In this example GPS mode is
selected.
d) Select the SUSP Softkey to resume sequencing
approach legs to the Missed Approach Hold
Point (MAHP).
e) Press the
NAV
Key to have the autopilot fly
to the MAHP. In this example, the autopilot
flies direct to Clovis VORTAC according to the
loaded approach (see Figure 6-25).
3) Use the
ALT Kno
b to set a Selected Altitude to
hold. The
CWS
button may be used to set a new
pitch attitude.
As the Selected Altitude is captured, Altitude
Hold Mode becomes active and the autopilot
maintains the Selected Altitude.
4) Set the Selected Heading using the HDG Knob
and press the
HDG
Key. Use the
HDG
Knob to
guide the aircraft for the remainder of the hold.
NOTE: As a result of the calculations being
performed by the system while flying the holding
pattern, the display may resize automatically and
the aircraft may not precisely track the holding
pattern.
