Working with media files

Listing media files

To list the media files on your hard drive:

1Open Media Server, then click the Media Files tab.

2Click the button for the media type you want to view in the Albums, Artists,

and Media lists.

If you have not imported any media files yet, the Artist, Album, and Name

panes are blank. For instructions on importing media, see “Importing

media files” on page 55.

Editing media file attributes

You can edit the attributes for all media files.

To edit media file attributes:

1Open Media Server, then click the Media Files tab.

2Click the button for the media type you want to view in the Albums, Artists,

and Media lists.

3In the Media list, right-click the file you want to edit the attributes for, then

click Edit Media details. Only one file can be edited at a time.

4Click Edit. The Edit Media Details dialog box opens.

5Type you r chang es in th e Filename, Title, Artist, Album, or Genre boxes, then

click Update.

No songs are found when I try to import the files into Media Server. A song starts playing, then it stops for no reason. Media Server cannot find music files that I know are there. DVD troubleshooting The player does not have power. No picture appears on my TV. 82 The picture on my TV has a lot of static, or noise The DVD picture does not fill the screen on my standard television. No sound plays while playing media through the player. There is no surround effect during playback of Dolby Digital soundtrack. 83 I keep hearing a loud hum or noise. The remote control does not work. The DVD does not play. The DVD does not start playing from the beginning.
