Configuring the Software
To get the most out of your new PMCS system, follow the directions below to configure your system.
Organize Your Information
Host PC
You need the following information to properly configure the PMCS software for the Host PC. This information is used throughout the configuration process and you should archive it for any future maintenance of your system.
For RS485 PMCS network interfaces, you need to list all devices in the power- management network (including Modbus Concentrators) with associated device types, Modbus RTU addresses, and COM ports. Assign names of less than 20 characters (no spaces) to these devices.
For example, in a simple system with four devices (and one Modbus Concentrator), you may have a table similar to the following.
