Downloading an Operating System (OS)

Using TFTP To Download the OS File

This procedure assumes that:

An OS file for the switch has been stored on a TFTP server accessible to the switch. (The OS file is typically available from HP’s electronic ser- vices—see the Customer Support/Warranty booklet shipped with the switch.)

The switch is properly connected to your network and has already been configured with a compatible IP address and subnet mask.

The TFTP server is accessible to the switch.

Before you use the procedure, do the following:

Obtain the IP address of the TFTP server in which the OS file has been stored.

Determine the name of the OS file stored in the TFTP server for the switch (for example, A_01_01.swi).
