2.2  Making a Call

You can make calls from the Phone screen, Contacts, Speed Dial, or the Call History.

Making a call from the Phone screen

1.To open the Phone screen, press the SEND button.

Tip The Phone screen also automatically opens when you begin entering the first digit or character of a phone number or contact name from the Home screen.

2.Enter the phone number or a stored contact name by pressing keys on the keypad. Press the BACK key if you need to backspace.

3.Notice that as you enter numbers or letters, a list of names and numbers is displayed as your phone searches

Contacts, Call History, Speed Dial, and your SIM card to find a matching name or number. The next key you press continues to narrow the search. When you see the desired number or contact name you want to call, select it, and press SEND.

Making a call from Contacts

When you call a contact, his or her mobile phone number is, by default, selected on the Contacts screen and dialed. You can call the mobile phone number or choose to dial a different phone number.

1.On the Home panel, select Contacts.

2.Use the TRACKBALL to navigate to the desired contact.

3.To select the phone number to call, scroll the TRACKBALL left or right. The letter representing the number changes to m (mobile), w (work), or h (home).

4.Press SEND to dial the selected number.
