UTC: UTC is an acronym for Universal Time Constant. UTC is the “standard time” used in navigation, and is the local time inGreenwich England. (UTC is equivalent to Gre enwich M ean Time (GMT)). T o di splay the cor rect Local Time in a Humminbird® GPS unit, the user must use the Local Time Zone menu and select the time zone (i.e. EST, CST).

WAAS: WAAS is a n acronym for Wide Area A ugmentation System. WAAS is complementary technology to GP S that provides enh anced a ccuracy through correction signals broadcast from FederalAviation Administration WAAS satellites stationed over the USA. These secondary signals are automatically received bythe standard Humminbird® G PS Recei ver. Wi th WAAS signa l, GPS accuracy i s improved to within 3 meters 95% of the time.
