The Menu System

The Menu System

The Menu S ystem is divided into eas y-to-use m enu m odules. The main components of the menu system are as follows:

•Start-Up Options Menu: Press the MENU key while the Title Screen is displayed (during the power on sequence) to view the Start-Up Options Menu. From the Start-Up Options Menu, you can choose the following

Chartplotter M odes: Norm al, Simulator, System Status, a nd PC Connect.

•X-Press™Menu: The X-Press™ Menu provides a shortcut to the most frequently-used settings, and t he options o n the X- Press™ Menu correspond with the current view.

•Main Menu: The Main Menu is a standard set of menu settings which

are organized under the following tabbed headings: Alarms, Navigation, Chart, Setup, Views, and Accessories.

NOTE: The X-Press™ Menu(s) and the Main Menu options can also be expanded or

simplified by setting the User Mode to Advanced or Normal (see Main Menu: User Mode).

This includes the position of the station and the t imes of the high and low tides for tod ay’s d ate. A tid e gr aph is also displayed showing the rise an d fall of the tid es for t he 24 ho ur time period encompassing the da te. You can change the date to look at t ide information before or after the date displayed by pressing the LEF T or RIGHT Cursor key respectively. Press the EXIT key to remove the information box, and the cursor bull’s eye will be centered over the tide station position. Magnetic N orth relies on the e arth’s magnetic field to align a m etal pointer g enerally towards True North. However, due to loca l variations in the earth’s magnetic field around the globe, the difference between True North and Magnetic North can be greater than 10. See True North memory. Routes are often used when frequently traveling between two or more locations be cause it is a faster and more ac curate method th an repeatedly selecting individual waypoints e ach time one travels through the same area . Routes consist of a Start Waypoint, an End Waypoint, and a series of waypoints in between. Users can begin navigation at the beginning, the end to runthe route in reverse or at any waypoint in between. See Waypoint Page Waypoint Target: Waypoint Target is a Hum minbird f eature that displays a precise “bull’s eye” around a selected waypoint. This bull’s eye is used to easily monitor boa t posit ion relative to a waypo int, a nd is useful fo r fishi ng over submerged structure.
