4.3.1Check List

BEFORE powering on the EonStor subsystem, please check the following:

Memory Modules – Memory modules have been correctly installed on the controller boards. You may skip this if you have not changed the pre-installed module.

BBU Modules – If used, that the BBU module has been installed correctly.

Hard Drives – Hard drives have been correctly installed on the drive trays.

Drive Trays ALL the drive trays, whether or not they have a hard drive, have been installed into the subsystem.

Cable Connections – The iSCSI ports on the subsystem have been correctly connected to the initiators or the Ethernet network.

Power Cords – The power cords have been connected to the PSU modules on the subsystem and plugged into main power.

Ambient Temperature – All the subsystem components have been acclimated to the surrounding temperature.

4.3.2Power On Procedure

When powering on the EonStor subsystem, please follow these steps.

Step 1. Power on the network connection devices.

These devices include the Ethernet switches, iSCSI HBAs, and any other such devices that have been connected to the EonStor A16E subsystem. Please refer to the documentation that came with your network device to see the power on procedure.

Step 2. Power on the EonStor subsystem.

The EonStor subsystem should only be powered on after all the network connection devices have been powered on. Consult your network administrators for proper network configurations. The power on procedure for the EonStor subsystem is described below.

Step 3. Power on the initiators.
