SYSTEM CONNECTIONS

[A] Using USB cable

It is possible to do the following things:
Transfer still images stored on a memory card to a
PC.
System Requirements
Windows®
OS: Windows® Me/2000/XP (pre-installed)
Connector: USB connector (standard equipment of
the computer)
It is not possible to connect to Windows® 98/98SE
PCs. Use the optional USB reader/writer CU-
VUSD70, the PC card adapter CU-VPSD60 or the
floppy disk adapter CU-VFSD50.
Macintosh
OS:
Mac OS 9.0.4 to 9.2.2
Mac OS X 10.1.5/10.2.1 to 10.2.8/ 10.3.1 to 10.3.2
Connector: USB connector (standard equipment of
the computer)

[B] Using i.LINK cable

It is also possible to transfer still/moving images to a
PC with an i.LINK connector by using the software
equipped with the PC or commercially available
software.
Set i.LINK OUT to SW. (pg. 28)
Set the i.Link Output Select Switch on this player to
the appropriate mode (
pg. 33);
DV: when using the DV editing software
MPEG2: when using the MPEG2 editing software
Set the i.Link Output Select Switch to the appro-
priate mode before connecting the i.Link cable.
NOTES:
It is recommended to use the AC Power Adapter/
Charger as the power supply instead of the
battery pack. (pg.10)
Never connect the USB cable and the i.LINK
cable simultaneously to the player. Connect only
the cable you wish to use to the player.
Do not connect the player through a hub.
When using an i.LINK cable, be sure to use the
optional JVC VC-VDV206U or VC-VDV204U
i.LINK cable depending on the type of i.LINK
connector (4 or 6 pins) on the PC.
If the PC connected to the player via the USB
cable is not powered, the player does not enter the
USB mode.
The date/time information cannot be captured into
the PC.
Refer to the instruction manuals of the PC and
Software.
The still images can also be transferred to a PC
with an i.LINK connector-equipped capture board.
The system may not work properly depending on
the PC or capture board you are using.

USB MODE and/or ACCESSING FILES
appears on the LCD monitor while the PC is
accessing data in the player or the player is
transferring a file to the PC.
NEVER disconnect the USB cable while
ACCESSING FILES is displayed on the LCD
monitor since this can result in product damage.
