Selecting the Sound Modes

This function only affects the playback sound, but does not affect your recording.

You can select one of the 6 preset sound modes (3 surround modes and 3 SEA — Sound Effect Amplifier — modes).

To select the sound modes, turn the

Creating a Being-There Feeling

By adding breadth and depth to the reproduced sounds, this function (3D Sound) can create a being-there feeling while playing back software encoded with Dolby Digital.

•When the “DIGITAL OUTPUT” setting is set to “BITSTREAM” (see page 29), this function does not work.

On the remote control ONLY:

Press 3D SOUND during play.

•Each time you press the button, 3D Sound turns on and off (and the current setting is shown on the TV screen).
