Advanced operations

This section explains advanced operations of DVD, Video CD, SVCD, and Audio CD playback using the remote control. For MP3 playback, see page 51, and for JPEG playback, see page 53.

shows the types of discs the operation is available for.

Before operating the DVD player from the remote control, press DVD to use the remote control for the disc operations.

Turn on your TV, and select the correct input mode on the TV.

If “ Using the on-screen bar ” appears on the TV screen when pressing a button, the disc cannot accept an operation you have tried to do, or information required for that operation is not recorded on the disc.

IMPORTANT:

When using the remote control, check to see if its

AUDIO/

remote control mode selector is set to the correct

TV/VCR

 

position:

CATV/DBS

 

To operate this system, set it to “AUDIO/TV/VCR.”

Using the on-screen bar

You can check the information of a disc while the disc is loaded, and you can use some functions through the on- screen bar.

1: shows a disc type.

2: shows the current transfer rate (Megabits per second).

3: shows the current title number.

4: shows the current chapter number (for DVD) or track number (for Video/Audio CD and SVCD).

5: shows the time information. See page 38.

6: shows the playback condition.

Showing the on-screen bar : appears during playback.

Press ON SCREEN./Contents of the on-screen bar : appears during fast forward/reverse.

Manual background/Manual background: appears during playback in forward slow- motion/reverse slow-motion.

: appears while paused.

Manual background : appears while stopped.

7: Select this to change the time information (5). See page 38.

8: Select this to repeat playback. See page 50.

9: Select this for the time search function. See page 45.

p: Select this for the chapter search function. See page 44.

q: Select this to change the audio language or channel. See pages 43 and 44.
