When the VOICE ACTIVATE ON/OFF key is set to ON, speaking a previously recorded word into the exclusive micro-

20 phone switches the system components from standby mode to ON mode.

The voice activation can use either the preset word (“KENWOOD”) (spoken by any person) or the desired words recorded by the user (spoken by a specific person(s)).

If the system is not activated properly by your pronunciation of “KENWOOD”, it is recommended to record your own words and use them for the voice activation (specific

person).Á

Main unit

1Ensure that the exclusive microphone is connected.
ÖLoad the CD player or LD player with the software to be played.

2Press the (ON/STANDBY) key to ON mode.

3Press the OPEN/CLOSE key to open the door.

4Press the VOICE ACTIVATE ON/OFF key to ON (so that the indicator lights in red).

5Press the OPEN/CLOSE key to close the door.

6Press the (ON/STANDBY) key to STANDBY mode (so that the display shows the clock information).

Each press switches the function as follows.1 When the indicator is lit:........... VOICE ACTIVATE is ON.2When the indicator is not lit:........... VOICE ACTIVATE is OFF.
Operation for voice activation of system components (by any person)
1Speak “KENWOOD” into the exclusive microphone.

2The system components are switched from standby mode to ON mode. The input selection is switched to CD or LD, and the corresponding component starts playback.

ÖThe voice is recognized by word “KENWOOD” spoken by any person.

ÖIf both the CD player and LD player have been connected, the CD player is given the precedence.

Auto power-save

When the system has been started up by voice activation, it will return to standby mode by automatically taking the following steps.

1The system components are started up by voice activa- tion.2CD or LD starts to be played.

3After the CD or LD playback completed, the system has remained in stop mode for about 30 minutes.

4The system returns automatically to standby mode.

ÖThe CD player or LD player should be loaded with the software to be played before the voice activation.

ÖIf none of the CD player or LD player has been loaded with software, the system remains in stop mode for about 30 minutes then returns automatically to standby mode.

ÖIf the input source is changed during playback of the CD or LD player after the system has been started up by voice activation, the auto power-save function is released.
