Adjusting the ISO Sensitivity
The ISO setting controls the camera’s sensitivity to lig ht. Use a lower ISO settin g
in brightly lit scenes, us e a higher ISO setting f or low-light scenes.
5Press a button to highlight the ISO setting you want to use.
AUTO (default)— when you turn the Mode Dial to P (fully
automatic) the camera sel ects this option and auto matically sets an
ISO speed based on scene brightness. Ideal for general picture taking.
ISO 100—ideal for daylig ht still pictures in bright sun, when fine
detail is needed. Great fo r portraits, or nature sce nes. When shooting
in Manual or Aperture Prio rity modes, the camera a pplies an ISO
speed of 100.
ISO 200—ideal for cloudy overcast days. Great when you need extra
speed without sacrificing image quality.
ISO 400—ideal for dusk, or night pictures when flash is prohibited;
great for pictures at sportin g events when you need to st op the action;
and excellent for indoor shots, with or without fla sh.
When any setting excep t Auto is selected, the icon appears in the
Status Display.
6Press OK to accept the changes and return to the Menu screen.
7Press Menu to exit the Menu screen.
This setting remains until you change it.
