Adjusting the Exposure Compensation
Use the Exposure Compens ation dial to control how much light is allowed into
the camera. You can adj ust the exposure by plus or minus 2 stop s in 1/2-stop
increments. The Exposure Compensation dial is lo cated on top of the camera .
This optional feature is available in fully automa tic (page 16) or Aperture
Priority mode (page 19). It is not available in Manual mode (page17) .
NOTE: This setting is ideal f or controlling scenes i n which the light
source is behind the subject (backlit), or for correcting pictures that
are too light or too dark.
Turn the Exposure Compensation dial to the
exposure value you wan t to use.
If your pictures are to o light, decrease (-)
the exposure compensa tion value.
If your pictures are too dark, in cr ease ( +)
the exposure compensa tion value.
