Message Display
The message display gives information in the form of short messages. The six messages listed below are dis- played during normal

| control panel is pressed, the cover is opened or closed, or data is received. The printer |
| then warms up and goes online. (The time that it takes the printer to enter Sleep mode |
| depends on the Sleep Timer setting.) |

Interface Indicator
The interface indicator shows which of the printer's interfaces is currently active. It uses the following abbreviations:

237Optional network interface
Theý3$5,ý6(5, orý237 indicator flashes when the printer is receiving and has received all the data, and then remains on.
Resolution Indicator
This shows the current printing resolution. The resolutions below can be switched on the control panel. The default is 600 dpi in the PCL 6 and KPDL 2 emulation mode and 300 dpi in other emulation modes. The printer's resolution can be selected using the printer's control panel (See the last page in this manual.).
