Imaging

Thissetting increases print speed and decreases spool size. It delivers

imagesin binary format. It can be used for most everyday printing needs.

Documentportability

Thissetting creates a PostScript file in ASCII text encoding. Unlike the binary

formatcreated in Fast printing, the ASCII text created with this selection

canbe edited.

CIE Optimization

CIEoptimization bypassesthe normal procedure of processing every aspect of

theCIE color space used in applications such as Adobe Acrobat and

Photoshop.This feature increases print speed for documents printed from these

applicationsby optimizing CIE data. It has no effect on print jobs that do not use

CIEdata. CIE optimization should be selected for speed not accuracy, so

printedoutput may be different from appearance on the screen.

Inthe Imaging tab, click Graphics to open the Graphics settings dialog box

andaccess the CIEoptimization checkbox. CIE optimization isavailable

whenKPDL is selected in the PDL Settings dialog box.

Image Compression Mode

Imagecompression mode lets you select a method for compressing images

dependingon the desired quality in printed images. JPEG compression

producesa lower quality image, while delta row compression produces a higher

qualityimage but creates a larger file size. Image compression mode is

availablewhen KPDL or PCL XLis selected in the PDL Settings dialog box.

InImaging >Graphics Settings, select from the following compression

options:

Smallerfile size

UsesJPEG compression

Highquality

Usesdelta row compression

Color Mode

Colormode lets you choose full-color printing or printing with black toner only.

Thefollowing color modes are available:

Fullcolor

Thismode prints four-color text and graphics.

Black& White

Thismode prints with black toner only, making all color settings unavailable.

Printer Profile

Printerprofile letsyou optimize the color rendering of photos and graphics.

Thisfeature is available when Fullcolor is selected as the Color mode.

InImaging >Printer profile, the following printer profiles are available.

Thisoption uses the printer settings only.
