•Whenyoucarryyourcomputer .

Solution:OntheBootmenuofThinkPadSetup,makesurethattheharddiskdriveisontheBootpriority
orderlist.IfitisontheExcludedfrombootorderlist,itisdisabled.Selecttheentryforitonthelistand
presstheShift+1key.Thismovestheentryt otheBootpriorityorderlist.
Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedriveto
anothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmight
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.

Asolidstatedriveproblem

Problem:WhenyoucompresslesorfoldersbyuseofthedatacompressionfunctioninWindows,andthen
decompressthem,theprocessofwritingtoorreadingfromthelesorfoldersisslow.
Solution:ApplythediskdefragmentationtoolinWindowsforfasteraccesstothedata.

Opticaldriveproblems

Problem:Theopticaldrive,suchasaCD,DVD,orCD-RWdrive,doesnotwork.
Solution:MakesurethatthecomputeristurnedonandaCD,DVD,orCD-RWisproperlyloadedonthe
centerpivotofthedrive.(Y oushouldhearaclick.)
Makesurethatthedriveconnectorisrmlyconnectedtothecomputer.Ifyouuseanoptionthathasabay
forinstallingthedrive,makesurethattheoptionisrmlyconnectedtothecomputerandworksproperly.
Makesurethatthedrivetrayisrmlyclosed.
Makesurethatthedevicedriversarecorrectlyinstalled.
