DOCUMENTATION CONVENTIONS

This document contains general safety, installation and operation instructions for the MC-12 and MC-12 Balanced Digital Controllers. It is important to read this user guide before attempting to use the product. Pay particular attention to safety instructions.

The following symbols are used in the document:

Represents a menu path. The menu items in gray boxes must be

selected with the remote control Menu arrow to access the menu or menu item in the black box. For example, the SETUP, INPUTS, and DVD1 menu items must be selected to open the DVD1 INPUT SETUP menu.

The DVD1 INPUT SETUP menu is used here as an example and will continue to be used as an example throughout this document. Whenever it appears, any other INPUT SETUP menu may be substi- tuted. Likewise, whenever the DVD1 input appears as a step in a menu path, any other input may be substituted.

Note: Calls attention to information that is essential to highlight.

This document uses the term MC-12 to refer to both the MC-12 and MC-12 Balanced Digital Controllers unless otherwise specified. This document uses the term DTS-(ES) to indicate that DTS-ES encoding may or may not be present in the input source.
