7.4Changing Fuel Filters

YStop engine and let cool.

1 Secondary Fuel Filter Remove filter.

Apply thin film of oil to gasket on new filter. Install filter.

2Primary Fuel Filter

3Fuel Line

Remove filter. Inspect all fuel lines and replace if cracked or worn.

Install new filter and clamps. Wipe up any spilled fuel.

Start engine, and check for fuel leaks.

YStop engine.

Tighten connections as necessary.

7.5Servicing Air Cleaner

YStop engine.

YDo not run engine without air cleaner or with dirty element.

YUse only high pulsation-type replacement filter listed on maintenance label or engine damage may occur.

To Clean air filter:

Wipe off cap and housing. Remove cap and dump out dust. Remove element. Reinstall cap to keep out dust.

YDo not clean housing with air hose.

Clean element with compressed air only. Keep nozzle at least 1 in (25

mm)from inside of element. Max. air pressure: 30 psi (207 kPa). Do not remove plastic fins. Replace ele- ment and valve if damaged. Replace element yearly or after six clean- ings.

Reinstall element and cap (cap ar- rows pointing down).
