NOTE !
The clear protective film on the DCP501 display must be removed and transferred to the inside back cover of your DCP501 Home Theater System User Guide. The Unit Address and Serial Number found on the protective film is required for activation of your DCP501 cable TV receiver by your cable TV service provider.
Before you begin, review the installation instructions, gather the required items, and complete the tasks listed below:
Place the DCP501 on a dry, smooth, flat surface and remove any obstructions that could interfere with the free flow of air over, under, or around it. Do not place anything on top of
the unit.
Disconnect power connections to all components before making any connections.
Do not disconnect the cable connection between the RF In and To RF In ports. Removal of this cable could disrupt operation of the DCP501.
WARNING !
To avoid damaging the DCP501, do not use the cable connection between the RF In and To RF ports as a handle.

Before making any connections to the DCP501, refer to the diagrams later in this section for more detailed information
To install the DCP501:
1Connect your TV to the DCP501.
2Connect your DCP501 for Cable TV.
3Connect your speakers and optional subwoofer.
4Connect your VCR to the DCP501.
5Connect your AM and FM antennas (supplied with DCP501).
6Plug your DCP501 into a wall outlet.
CAUT ION!
Do not plug the DCP501’s power cord into a wall outlet until you have completed all connections between the DCP501 and other components.
