Chapter 6 Keyboard Wedge Interface

Introduction
This chapter provides instructions for programmin g the scanner for keyboard wedge host interface, used to
connect the scanner between the keyboard and host computer. The scanner translates the bar code data into
keystrokes, and transmits the information to the host computer via th e cradle interface. The host co mputer accept s
the keystrokes as if they originated from the keyboard .
This interface adds bar code reading functionality to a system designed for manual keyboard input. In this mode
the keyboard keystrokes are simply passed through.
Throughout the programming bar co de menus, default values are indicated with asterisks (*).
