The length settings correspond to note lengths as follows:

1	1/16
2	1/8
3	3/16
4	1/4
5	3/8
6	1/2

8	1

The default length setting for a new note is 4

Octave

After you generate a note, press 0to change the octave. The octave is represented by the 3rd character of the 3- character tone note sequence. The octave ranges from 4 through 7.

Each time you press 0, the octave increases by 1 until it reaches 7. At the next press, it starts over at 4.
