The default setting for a new note is octave 5.

Note Entry Sequence

Action

1Enter a sharp (#) before selecting the note, if necessary. (optional)

2Press a keypad key to select the note. (required)

3Set the length after selecting the note. If you do not specify a length, the default length (4) is used.

4Set the octave after selecting the note. If you do not specify an octave, the default octave (5) is used.

You can perform the following tasks when creating a tone:

Task	Action
insert a rest	Enter 1 or more rests
	(40 characters) as needed in the
	tone sequence. Set the length of
	the rest (1 to 8) after you enter the
	rest, just as you would for a note.
