Record Orientation

Press the dbutton Mz(Setup menu) (A168) MRecord orientation

Basic Camera Setup

180

Set whether or not to record the orientation data with the picture when shooting.

Auto (default setting)

Record the orientation data with the picture when shooting. When the picture is played back, the recorded orientation data is used to automatically rotate the picture for display.

The following three data orientation types for the camera can be recorded.

Horizontal position

Vertical position with

Vertical position with

 

the left side on top

the right side on top

Off

The orientation data is not recorded. Pictures are always displayed in the horizontal position.

The orientation data can be changed after shooting using Rotate image in the playback menu (A130).

BNotes on Recording the Orientation Data

In continuous or auto bracketing mode, all pictures are recorded with the same orientation data as the first picture.

Correct orientation data may not be obtained for pictures recorded with the camera facing up or down.
