Exchanging Memory Cards

Do not remove or replace the memory card while recording a multiple exposure.

Taking Photographs—Overlay/Multiple Exposure

Photo Info

The information listed in the playback photo information display (including date of recording and camera orientation) is for the first shot in the multiple exposure.

Voice Memos

The camera stores only the last voice memo created during a multiple exposure.

Auto Meter Off

Unless No limit is selected for Custom Setting c3 (Auto meter-off; 196) or the camera is powered by an AC adapter, shooting will end and a multiple exposure will be recorded if no operations are performed for 30 s. To prevent the exposure meters from turning off before the 30 s limit has expired, 30 s are added to the auto meter-off delay when shooting starts. The existing meter-off delay is restored when shooting ends.

White Balance (55)

If Auto is selected for white balance, white balance will be fixed at a value equivalent to Direct sunlight while multiple exposure mode is in effect. Only use Auto if the subject is in direct sunlight.

Interval Timer Photography

If interval timer photography is activated before the first exposure is taken, the camera will record exposures at the selected interval until the number of exposures specified in the multiple exposure menu have been taken (the number of shots listed in the interval timer shooting menu is ignored). These exposures will then be recorded as a single photograph and multiple exposure mode and interval timer shooting will end. Note that unless No limit is selected for Custom Setting c3 (Auto meter-off; 196) or the camera is powered by an AC adapter, shooting will end automatically if no operations are performed for 30 s; when recording a multiple exposure using the interval timer, choose an interval of less than 30 s, select No limit for Custom Setting c3 (Auto me- ter-off; 196), or use an AC adapter. Cancelling multiple exposure cancels interval timer shooting.

Bracketing and Other Settings

Bracketing is cancelled when multiple exposure is selected and can not be restored until shooting has ended. Settings that can not be changed during a multiple exposure can not be selected once the first picture has been taken.

Two Button Reset (136)

Multiple exposure settings are not affected when a two-button reset is performed. Performing a two-button reset does not cancel multiple exposure mode.
